It&#8217;s the sciencey name for those rumbles and grumbles you might hear coming from your gut &#8211; and it&#8217;s totally normal!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"a1hr2-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"a1hr2-0-0\">It happens in all of us and it&#8217;s just normal movements of your gut, as food, fluid and gas is passing through.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"jjjj-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"jjjj-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"9skfa-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9skfa-0-0\">Even if they seem really loud to you, chances are other people don\u2019t notice them. But even if they do, it\u2019s just your gut doing it thing aka sweeping itself \u2018clean\u2019 so don&#8217;t be embarrassed.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"bj5bk-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"bj5bk-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"er60l-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"er60l-0-0\">You might hear the noises more when you&#8217;re hungry, as they&#8217;re typically louder when your stomach is empty as food (and liquid) helps to muffle the noise.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7l56a-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7l56a-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"dfu80-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dfu80-0-0\">Now you can tell whoever&#8217;s listening that it&#8217;s just some borborygmi.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"cnpnu-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"cnpnu-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"bd49h-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"bd49h-0-0\">If you&#8217;re feeling like yours are getting too loud or come with any other symptoms&#8230;<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4nr1o-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4nr1o-0-0\">\u00a0Check-in with your stress and anxiety levels. The noises are often louder as your gut muscles tend to contract more aggressively.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3vte7-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3vte7-0-0\">Chat to your GP or physician to rule out other issues like IBS (it\u2019s super common in IBS where you have incomplete digestion and\/ over fermentation- check out my first book for practical strategies to help manage this)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3s2hj-0-0\">\u00a0If you&#8217;re a fast eater, try slowing down with your meals and making sure to chew well<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"cm2p8\" data-offset-key=\"7e4s0-0-0\">\n<p class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7e4s0-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7e4s0-0-0\">And, so you don\u2019t say it wrong (like I often do) it\u2019s pronounced BOR-boh-RIG-mee<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever heard of borborygmi?
