Here&#8217;s why you should&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">If you\u2019ve been cooking from \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Eat-More-Live-Well-Favourite\/dp\/0241480469\/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=1625134302&amp;sr=1-2&amp;mc_cid=7118e4d791&amp;mc_eid=UNIQID\">Eat More, Live Well<\/a>,\u2019 you might have noticed that I am a fan of adding veg into my bread recipes (there\u2019s an entire grated carrot n my \u2018Foolproof fermented wheaten bread\u2019, for example!)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But WHY do I do this? Truth is, it\u2019s not just because I think it makes your bread taste way more complex and flavourful. Rather, it\u2019s also because there\u2019s research showing the health benefits of veg-enriched loaves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In one 2021 study, researchers looked at the impacts of veg-enriched bread versus commercial white bread and commercial brown bread on indicators including the appetites and insulin levels (I chat more about this hormone in the book!) of people participating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The results showed that:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p1\">When the participants ate the veg bread they reported feeling more satisfied (appetite regulation), versus when they ate the white or brown bread.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">They also experienced a lower insulin response with the veg bread.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Research translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This is what I&#8217;m all about!
